I know what it’s like to feel like your body is betraying you.

For many years, I wondered why it wasn't behaving the way I wanted it to. Why wasn't it looking the way I wanted it to look? Why wasn't it allowing me to live the life I longed for.

Maybe more than anything, I just wanted it to feel normal.

There are many paths that lead us here, mine was one of work and pressure. I overworked my body, pushed it beyond its limits.

For so long, I'd believed my body was working against me, failing me.

Nothing changes until something changes

Exhaustion was an everyday emotion. I believed if I just tried harder - if I was more organised, went to bed earlier, did more batch cooking - then next week, next month, next year - some future point in time - I would feel like myself again but of course, it didn’t happen like that. There’s a very wise saying that goes: nothing changes until something changes and maybe that’s what came first, I wanted my life to change.

Although every person came to me for a different reason from digestive issues, chronic fatigue, chronic pain, hormonal changes, and disordered eating. A pattern emerged that I kept noticing: people weren't just disconnected from their health; they were disconnected from themselves.

Just as I had, many of my clients had learned to override their body's cues, dismiss warning signs and ignore pleas. They'd become experts at coping, often without realising the extent of what it was costing them.

For so long, I'd believed my body was working against me, failing me. But the more I reflected on my journey and the journeys of the people sitting opposite me, the more I realised something.

I realised this work was about far more than nutrition or resolving symptoms, it was about helping people rebuild their relationship with their bodies.

And that isn’t just one-sided, our bodies keep communicating in the only way they know how but when the messages go unanswered, it’s relationship with us becomes strained.

We have to show our bodies that it can trust us too, that we will listen to what it wants, what it needs - more rest, more nourishment, more safety, more compassion.

This changed everything. I stopped seeing health as a battle to be won or a body to be fixed and instead, I began to see healing as rebuilding a relationship that had quietly broken down over years of survival.

That became the foundation of Allaria, a place to help you feel safe in your body again.

The Philosophy of Allaria

For many people, living in their body feels uneasy.

It feels like a battle.

A battle with symptoms. A battle with food. A battle with energy. A battle with the constant feeling that your body isn't behaving the way it should.

Over time, that battle begins to shrink your life. You stop applying for promotions because you don't have the energy. You avoid holidays because travelling feels overwhelming and the beach feels unthinkable. You worry about eating out, sharing bathrooms or wearing certain clothes. Without even realising it, your world becomes smaller as you try to manage a body that feels unpredictable.

I don't believe that's where the story ends.

I believe our bodies are always communicating with us. Symptoms aren't there to punish us or make life difficult; they're asking us to pay attention. They're invitations to become curious about what our body needs rather than another reason to criticise it.

That doesn't mean we can simply make symptoms disappear. Sometimes the body is asking us to sit with discomfort for a while.

That's the shift I want for every client.

Not from illness to perfection, but from conflict to partnership.

From feeling like your body is the enemy to feeling like it's on your side again.

That's what led me to bring together nutritional therapy, meditation, coaching and holistic practices.

I realised that the more rigid, protocol-driven approach to functional health wasn't serving me enough. My body was longing for something gentler. Less about control and more about compassion. Less about perfection and more about progress.

I wanted to create an approach that felt more balanced, more whole and more human. One that creates space for nourishment, rest, nature and prioritising the things that bring us joy.

Allaria’s approach gives people permission to reconnect with themselves, rebuild trust in their bodies and experience health with more freedom, more ease and more joy.

Because when you begin to understand your body's language, you no longer spend your life fighting it.

You begin giving it what it needs.

And as that relationship changes, life begins to expand again.
